Our accommodations matter to us as travelers. We want to relax and enjoy all the comforts and amenities of home after a long day on our feet sight seeing and exploring top adventures. Understanding this, it is easy to see why top complaints in regards to travel often relate to accommodations. While there are any number of complaints which travelers may have, there are some which come up much more often than others. Take a closer look at these more common complaints so you can become informed and avoid these and other common complaints.
Wifi – While traveling, most people will tend to bring some sort of device which requires an internet connection. When we get back to our hotel that we are paying good money for, we may want to just jump on the internet and update our facebook, plan the next days trip or order some food and do it without having to login and pay a fee for it. Many hotels offer free wifi but if they don’t and you are not feeling the urge to pay another $20, you may have to go find an internet cafe nearby. Inconvenient yes; common yes; reason to complain; to many, the answer is yes.
Pillows and blankets – Most hotels are affordable for a reason. You may expect luxury, but unless you pay for it, you may not find it. For this reason, a common complaint are pillows and blankets. Of course you can easily avoid this complaint by bringing your own, your choice.
Barking dogs – As accommodations go out of their way to cater to the new pet friendly ways of the world, the pet people are pleased, however, the non pet people, perhaps not so pleased. No one wants to wake up to a barking dog, even if you are a pet person however, so, if you are not traveling with a pet and want to avoid this complaint, you may want to choose a hotel who does not cater to our four legged friends.
Not enough outlets – We are more and more reliant on electricity in our society today. Our phones, pads, books and laptops all require an outlet. Not enough outlets in a room is becoming much more common as our need for outlets increases so, the easiest way you can avoid this issue is by simply bringing along a power strip. Make sure if you are traveling abroad that you also bring a power converter as well.
